How to use RecordSeek to Attach a Source in FamilySearch

RecordSeek “makes it effortless to record your source citations from the web.” They allow you to save any web page as a citation, which can then be imported into FamilySearch or Ancestry.

  1. Find a Hint you want to attach from a site other than FamilySearch (ie Ancestry or My Heritage).

  1. Click on “RecordSeek” on your computer.

  1. This screen will appear. Choose save to “FamilySearch.”

  1. Attach Source box which shows all Information for the source.

  1. Click Next.

  1. Attach source to person you want. By copying down their PID number and pasting it in the search box.

  1. A screen will come up allowing you to create and attach source.

  1. You will get a confirmation message that the source has been attached successfully.
